Currently Loving: Velvet

I love the amount of velvet I am seeing everywhere. It’s romantic, chic, cozy, and sexy. Wearing velvet this season is one of the hottest trends and when done right, can look epic for whatever occasion you choose to suit it. Start off slow if you are hesitant and opt for velvet leggings, a velvet blazer, or a velvet long sleeve.  It’s easy and you can pair with so many things. If you want to amp up the look, try a velvet long sleeve maxi dress, a sleeveless Midi dress, velvet wide leg trousers, or a velvet skirt/shorts. There are so many looks that I love, and all for perfect, different occasions. The holidays are a prime time to try this trend. You can layer it and the lush material makes the holiday season that much cozier.

The easiest way to wear velvet is to pick a darker color palette, black, deep shades of greens, reds, and purples/navy’s. The darker, the easier. Plus when the light hits it just right, the velvet just screams for attention. This look will turn heads all season long. Shop at places like Urban Outfitters, Nasty Gal, ASOS, Victorias Secret, Anthropology, and H&M for the best velvet pieces. If you want that sexy New Year’s Dress, Nasty Gal does it the best. Looking for the perfect Christmas ensemble? ASOS has awesome velvet blazers. And even for those wild nights out, check out Urban for the midi length skirt. You cannot go wrong.  See my top looks below.  Eat your hearts out, Ladies.
