Must Have Of The Week: Kimonos

This fashion trend is something I have always wanted to chase after.  Its cool, casual, bohemian, and creates this amazingly effortless look in seconds.  The Kimono.  Even saying it sounds sexy.  It’s the cardigan version for summer, only lighter, longer and comes in thousands of fantastic prints.

Stores like Arnhem Clothing offer up some of the best fabrics, prints and styles.  It can be a little pricey but it is worth it for these gems that will last a life time.  Nasty Gal also does a fabulous job styling kimonos and rocking floor length to waist.  I bought one last year and they do not disappoint. Places like Necessary Clothing, Tobi, and Foreign Exchange also have great options for an even better bargain.

The best advice for wearing kimonos?  There are no rules.  Layer it up, go wild with your accessories and find a rad pair of shoes/booties to wear with this.  Go to look in winter?  Wearing faux leather leggings and a seriously low plunging t-shirt. Go to look in summer? High waisted cut offs and a loose mid waist crop top.  Wear with anything.  See the perfection.  This is a must have this year.  Glad I have six already, and one on the way! ..that means I need some more.
